We had to write a quick write about this photo it won the Auckland photo competition and is a very good photo. We had to use complex sentences like serial sentences, opener sentences, and interrupter sentences we also had to use short sharp sentences this is my writing.
The Jump
As I walk over the undulated wharf, with no shoes on, the city as a backdrop. As I walk forward, with my friends by me watching. I hear the waves forcing against the wharf. I see boats, buildings and fish. I think to myself should I be doing this could it be dangerous and then I think just do it it’s not that bad.
I set, Prepare, and lunge. As I fall, I felt so free. So alive. My arms were wide apart stretched out and flying through the sky. Then I realize that I’m about to hit the water and hope it won’t be too cold. I hit the water with pace and get covered in cold refreshing water. As I popped out of the water, I felt so refreshed and alive. I had done it. I was so proud of myself, I could have done it again. While I was trying to get back up, and slipped and fell into the water and got a fright, I thought to myself just take your time. I tried again and succeeded. I got to the top and felt so awesome like I had achieved a new goal. I did it.

The Smash
Its tied
Set each stuck on the scoreboard
6-6 in 3rd, match point
The crowd is silent, tense
Everyone off there sets
Watching intently
Waiting for end result
I prepare myself for what might happen
I wait
As ball travels up towards me.
I Set,
Prepare,
Crouch,
Balance
Ready to unleash my power
As it gets closer to me
I explode up into the ball with acceleration
Which forced the ball back with more power.

Writing to the unknown soldier
Part of our Inquiry was to write the unknown soldier. We had to use complex sentences short powerful sentences and paragraphs.
This below is my Writing to the unknown soldier.
To the unknown soldier
I do not know what your name is, but I do know that you would have found it a struggle. How did you feel when you went to war? We have heard some of you thought it would be an adventure. I guess they were wrong. Was it scary putting on your uniform for the first time or did you feel proud to be representing your country. We have heard that some of you felt proud and like a hero.
I wonder if you were there to bury the dead or were you the dead being buried. Were you a soldier? We have learned that some of the soldiers had to carry a gun and about thirty kilograms on your back and that some of the soldiers had to live with rats, mice and lice. Gross. Although it would have been very hot and sweaty, did you cut your uniform.
I can not imagine how hard it would have been to fight in those conditions and you were one of those that fought and went really for a pointless reason. War - which killed all those hundreds of thousands of innocent people that were just trying to do as they were told and got killed.
I’m only 11 years old. Warm, safe and dry thanks to you. I thank you very much for your heroic effort.
Yours sincerly
Luke Winter

Anzac biscuits
Anzac biscuit recipe and Information
This is my Anzac biscuit blog post.
The Anzac biscuit recipe was made by the wives of the soldiers that went to war and the recipe is now a really famous recipe that the Australian and New Zealand people now days make.
Here is the recipe below
Step 2. Into a large bowl put in the flour the rolled oats the sugar and the coconut and mix the ingredients together.
Step 3. Put in a saucepan butter and golden syrup and make sure the saucepan is a low heat and melt them down.
Step 4. Before you put the bicarbonate of soda in the saucepan put some boiling water with the bicarbonate of soda and stir it around
Step 5. Then mix the bicarbonate of soda into the saucepan.
Step 6. Mix the wet mixture to the dry mixture and give it a stir and you should end up with a doughy mixture.
Step 7. Roll the mixture into balls onto a baking tray with baking paper on top of it.
Step 8. Get a a wooden spoon and wet it and flatten the biscuits with the wooden spoon and the water will stop them from burning in the oven.
Step 9. Then put the Anzac biscuits into a preheated oven at 170 degrees for 15 minutes or until they are nice and crispy.

Journey through the mind of LUKE!
Journey through the mind of ME! (Luke)
For our first writing task we did a story called The journey through the mind of us we had to describe us and what we do at certain time.
Take a trip inside my mind
For our first writing task we did a story called The journey through the mind of us we had to describe us and what we do at certain time.
Take a trip inside my mind
Take a trip inside my mind, with crazy and imaginative ideas
that will blow you away.
At times my, mind thinks of what could happen and what has happened before.
I have a mind that keeps going at what its doing until my mind can't handle it.
I dream of what I could change in the world and make a difference to the world
I wonder if people will invent teleporters to travel around the world.
My hope is to be a professional tennis player and win a grand slam with people shouting my name. “Luke,Luke,Luke.”
I can often be caught playing tennis and making sure that is right.
When no one is watching I sing music and turn it up really loud. This year I want to do everything I do to the best of my ability. Luke Winter
